I mention this not because of interest in this particular file but in case it might mean something more.
I happened to be looking for winmail.exe, which exists in "Windows Mail" beneath Program Files and Program Files(x86), when I discovered that Everything didn't find it on the system in those areas.
I assumed I didn't have it there until later when I enabled the display of protected OS files in Explorer and found that I did. I thought maybe a reindex of Everything (which is run as admin) was in order, but it still didn't see them.
Here's the kicker: it DOES see other protected OS files that I know of, like pagefile.sys and swapfile.sys.
I was testing this on Win10 but for clarity also tried it on Win81 with a first-time run of Everything there, so it can't be an exclusion or anything that I've set in Everything running interference.
Anyway, I don't think this is necessarily important but I thought it worth mentioning since Everything is the one place that I go to to absolutely tell me whether a file exists.

Re: Files that can elude Everything
Thanks, I didn't notice that's what it was.
Re: Files that can elude Everything
I'm having a similar issue with finding "explorer.exe". I've posted about it here: http://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopi ... 583#p14583
