Search Window maximum characters?

Hi I'm wondering how many characters the Search Window supports...for example file1|file2|file3 - can I put in a 100 of these and be sure of the results? 1,000?

I've been scanning the .ini options for the Search Window Settings and don't something that would control this.

Seems like I get accurate results up to around 3,000 characters for these long OR statements but not more than that.
