dc:last60minutes or dm:today
I get instant results on a Win 8.1 machine but on my Win XP SP3 PC
the same searches take a long time. The database does not seem to be queried on the XP System.
How to fix or is this behaviour standard on Win XP?
Edit:
After a first slow search, subsequent searches are fast.
Is this standard behaviour with dm: dc: da: type searches?
Maybe the speed difference is just due to Win 8 running on SSD and Win XP with two regular hard disks.
Search slow on Win XP but instant on Win 8
Re: Search slow on Win XP but instant on Win 8
This may only be a result of Windows caching the MFT.
dc: and dm: are nearly instant on SSDs and incredibly slow on HDDs.
dc: and dm: will be instant for both hard drive types in the next release of Everything (with size and date indexing enabled).

That's great news. When is the next release?void wrote:This may only be a result of Windows caching the MFT.

I don't have a release date yet, there is still quite a bit to do.
