I set in Options->Home->Sort=Path (Ascending)
Then I exit+restart Everyting and searched for another pattern.
Then ALWAYS the sort order is "Name" and NOT "path".
It seems to me that this is a bug.
Or do I have to setup another option to let Everything rememeber the sort order for all future searches?
Which line in *.ini file determines the sort order?

Everything does NOT remember sort order "path"
Re: Everything does NOT remember sort order "path"
Works fine here and always_keep_sort is set to 0
Re: Everything does NOT remember sort order "path"
Works fine. Thank you.salazor wrote:http://www.voidtools.com/support/everyt ... _keep_sortCode: Select all
always_keep_sort=1
But I had to change the value from 0 to 1 MANUALLY.
I think this is a bug.
The value should changeable from GUI according tio the selected entry in
General-->Home--->Sort

Re: Everything does NOT remember sort order "path"
This option don't exist in the gui,it's ini only option and it doesn't remember just the path but every sort mode you select(which can lead to problems if you have a lot of files)
And as I said,Tools=>Options=>Home=>Sort works with any sort mode I choose and always_keep_sort is set to 0

Re: Everything does NOT remember sort order "path"
FYI, for anyone else having trouble with the ini file, I used an Admin-level notepad and ALSO made sure all Everything-related Processes were terminated in Task Manager. before this, the settings in .ini would keep reverting! So either the admin or the terminating everything processes (think an extra one is created if you have it in the Notification icon area). Caused me a lot of confusion so I hope it helps someone else.
