Everything freezes when querying

I know that this is a well know problem, and it has been already reported, but I like to contribute with my two cents here.
I wait for over a year since the last beta has come back in 2013, one year without problem fixes (especifically the one that freeze Everything window while querying) or some new features, and when in this week I see that new versions re coming, but no solution for this annoying problem. Don't get me wrong, I think that Everything is an amazing program and a useful tool, but it seems that is time to leave this enterprise to someone who can actually develop the product more often and have the time to bring support also. I'll be willing to pay if that is the case, but please, fix that problem.

On a long running search (or sort or filter), Everything does present a "break" option (usually when you've stepped away from the Everything window, then back to it) but sometimes it can be hard to effect.
